POTAIN HUP 32-27 in action for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang -
South Korea

In July 2017, we were contacted by the company Loidl GmbH (www.hochsitz.at), with the request of crane application solutions for the realization of lifting work on international projects.
It was about building the "Nation Village" for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang - South Korea.
The task was demanding in many ways. On the one hand, a concept for transport by sea freight, on-site assembly and worldwide service availability was to be created within a few days, and secondly, the necessary crane had to be available promptly.

With our latest product from POTAIN (by Manitowoc), the HUP 32-27, all lifting requirements and mobility requirements of the customer were met.
Within 24 hours of the first contact, a concept for the transport by sea freight including the necessary crane axle, for the manipulation of the crane on the site and the individual construction sites in Pyeongchang was created.

The concept convinced the company Loidl GmbH under the leadership of the general director Bernd Loidl. So 7 days after the first contact of the POTAIN HUP 32-27 at the company headquarters of the company Stirnimann in Trumau, seaworthy was loaded in open top container and transported away.
This narrow time window could only be met thanks to the ingenious technology of the POTAIN cranes. No adaptation work was necessary for the container transport. POTAIN already fulfills these requirements as standard and produces the HUP series precisely fitting for container transport.
Our highly trained assembly staff was also used during the initial assembly and training in Pyeongchang. After just a few days of enrollment, the journey home could be started back to Austria.
POTAIN (by Manitowoc) and the company Stirnimann GmbH guarantee a comprehensive service and spare parts availability.

We are pleased to contribute our products and services to the successful realization of the Nation Village in Pyeongchang.

Thanks again to Director-General Bernd Loidl and his trusted team.
